Based in San Francisco's Financial District, SpotOn is a fast-growing Digital Marketing, Loyalty, Reviews and Integrated Payments platform that helps local businesses build valuable relationships with their customers. These tools, on a single platform, help Small Business Owners grow and run their company.


As an Underwritier, you'll be tasked with reviewing potential and existing merchants from various perspectives. We adhere to various rules and regulations, and as such need to make sure we grow our business with a healthy portfolio of merchants. This role is also to scale internal processes and focus on continuous optimization and automation


Being a rapidly growing startup, this position includes a unique ability to leave a real and lasting impact on SpotOn and its team. We’re looking for someone with an equally unique sense of flexibility and creativity. An individual who feeds off of personal interaction, whilst simultaneously self-motivated enough to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment. 


If this describes you…

  • Able to work full-time from our downtown San Francisco office
  • Naturally inquisitive, rarely taking things at face value
  • Thrive off of a fast-paced environment
  • A team player who is comfortable with change and thinking on their feet
  • Competitive and known for seeing things to completion
  • Between 1-3 years of experience, ideally in underwriting or credit risk assessment
  • Want to join a rapidly growing Silicon Valley startup

  • Gather information and review new merchant applications
  • Complete risk assessment based on financial and non-financial information
  • Interact with numbers and the processing of financial information
  • Train new and existing colleagues around the on-boarding procedure
